SEASON TICKET AUCTION COMPLETE

The three auctions detailed below for three pairs of Hokie football season tickets ended successfully on July 5th.  Each pair of tickets were available for bidding for one week so it took approximately three weeks to conclude the auction.  We will now have a Hokie from Roanoke, Lynchburg, and Northern Virginia enjoying VT football this fall courtesy of our auction.   Of course, the purpose of the auction was to benefit the VT Athletic Fund.  Thanks to all who participated.

FOOTBALL RECRUIT HI-LIGHT LUNCHEON

The Peninsula Hokie Club hosted our annual luncheon on February 12th to review the hi-light video of our 2013 football recruits and listen to the very unique narrative delivered by Coach Cav. According to the video and Coach Cav, we had one of our best recruiting years.  If they stay healthy, we can expect great things from these young men.  About 55 Hokies crowded into the rec. room at Bailey’s Grille to watch the video and ask very pertinent questions of Coach Cav.  Also attending were Lu Merrit and Terry Bolt from the VTAF.  ( See luncheon pics)

Peninsula Hokie Club Presents 2012 Gift to VTAF

At the monthly club meeting on October 9th at Mike’s Place in Newport News, the club presented it’s annual gift to VTAF.  This gift was a check for $9,300 toward the club’s pledge for the Football Practice Facility and was presented to Ms. Terry Bolt, Director of Development for Special Gifts and the Athletic Annual Fund.  The funds were raised through various fund-raisers conducted throughout the past year, including our annual golf tourney, football season ticket auctions, and Hampton Festival beer concessions.  I wish to thank all the Hokie Reps, Hokie Club members, business sponsors, and all others who helped with our fund-raising efforts.

Pictured below at the actual presentation (shown from left to right on back row) are Bob Ross and Bill Bradley and on the front row, left to right are Ty Biagas, Terry Bolt, Frank Seamster, and Danny Leigh.  Present but not pictured were John Wells and Carolyn Seamster.

The 2nd picture shows Ms. Terry Bolt presenting a plaque to Frank Seamster, Peninsula Hokie Club President, in recognition of the club’s support for the Football Practice Facility.
