The Peninsula Hokie Club is again hosting a luncheon to present high lights of the new VT recruits for 2013. The event is sponsored by Mr. Bill Leong – State Farm Insurance and will be presented by Coach Jim Cavanaugh. This is an opportunity for club members and Hokie fans to get an idea of the quality of players we will be seeing in the future. Coach Jim Cavanaugh will present video highlights of each of the new recruits. In addition, he will answer questions about the Virginia Tech football program.
Coach Cavanaugh is the Director of Recruiting & High School Relations for the Virginia Tech football team. He spent 15 seasons as the strong safety and outside linebacker coach. A former high school coach in Newport News, he is very familiar with this area. He began coaching in 1970 and joined the Virginia Tech staff in 1996. He has coached at VMI, NC State, Marshall, Virginia, Maryland and North Carolina. He primarily focuses his recruiting efforts in the Richmond and Peninsula areas.
Lunch reservations are requested by Tuesday, February 5th, 2013 and are limited to the first 75 people. Cost is $15 per person which includes one of the four food selections listed below and a soft drink (cost is $15.75 if paying on-line).
